Hanyang University Transportation Mode Detection (HYU-TMD)
Introduction
Transportation mode detection (TMD) is an important computational technique that facilitates human life at the social and individual levels. In particular, TMD can improve the quality of life and social inclusion of people with mobility disability. Because TMD requires a large dataset, using smartphone application for data collection have increased recently. However, it is still difficult to include the individual characteristics of the people with mobility disability, such as individual assistive transportation mode (e.g. manual and electric wheelchair, crutches). To solve this problem, we developed an application that allows the experimenter to set up various settings for data collection and can collect data based on the results of settings. We suggested that this application can be applied to people with mobility disability, and furthermore, be used in various research in TMD fields. Therefore, we want to help many research of TMD fields by releasing the application for anyone to use.
HYU-TMD Application
The HYU-TMD Application consists of ‘Configuration App’ setting various configurations and ‘Collection App’ recording data. Before collecting data, experimenter can configurate transportation mode, sensor, collecting position, collecting time, validation using Configuration App. After setting configuration, the Configuration App save the information of configuration at participant’s smartphone. Participants can collect data based on the information configurated. Detail information of HYU-TMP application is provided at PDF file (URL).

- First version of HYU-TMD is released and anyone can download .apk of this application (URL) HYU-TMD application is walking only at over Android 9.0 (currently, not supporting at under Android 9). Detail information is provided at PDF file in over .(URL)
